Comprehensible input and storytelling are the main methods we use to teach Spanish to our students. We believe that comprehensible input is a road that leads to language acquisition and storytelling is the vehicle that helps students get there faster, comfortably and without much effort. It is also one of the most enjoyable and effective techniques to teach languages. When you read or tell stories to children you immerse them in rich language in context, which in turn leads to higher levels of speech and literacy. No secret there! Reading or telling stories to children is extremely important for language development, and since this is true for the first language, it makes sense to also introduce students to a similar experience when learning a second language.
